About Bylefian

Bylefian is short for Byte Level File Analyst. It is a free media converter for people who need quick, local video and audio conversion without creating an account or uploading personal files to a remote conversion queue.

The tool runs in the browser. For supported files, the browser reads the selected media, decodes it locally, and writes the chosen output format on the same device. This approach is intentionally simple: select a file, choose a conversion, preview the result, then save it.

Bylefian is not a URL downloader and does not rip media from streaming platforms. It is built for files you created, own, licensed, or otherwise have permission to convert.

Installable browser app

Bylefian is designed as a static progressive web app. You can install it on supported phones and computers, then keep using the free converter from your home screen or desktop when the browser has cached the app.

Private by design

The converter uses local browser features and built-in conversion components for supported formats. There is no account, no upload step, no pasted URL conversion, and no remote conversion service in the app.

How Bylefian works

Choose a file from your device, pick an output format that appears for that file type, wait for the progress bar, preview the converted media in the browser, then save the output. Available formats depend on what your browser can decode and encode locally on that device.

Portable across devices

Bylefian is built as a static browser app that converts supported files directly on the device. That keeps it portable across phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop operating systems without a native installer.
